FINALS LAST NIGHT.
Most of the teachers will be aware how difficult the booking of venues has been this year.
The Greenwood Theatre had kept us hanging on until the 2nd week of September with ‘I’m sure
it will all be fine’ and then announced that they would not be booking any dates for the next year.
It has I’m afraid been impossible to book another theatre in central London and we have been
forced to go just outside. The theatre we will be using is The Millfield Theatre, Enfield. It is a lovely
theatre with pleasant and welcoming staff and excellent facilities. We do hope that this will help to
compensate for the fact that for some, access will be a little more difficult.
I was of course terribly unhappy not to be at Finals this year but saw by all the feedback, that it ran very smoothly and the atmosphere was great, and apparently on the last night, quite emotional.
My extra special thanks to my ‘A’ team and to all the teachers who gave that bit of additional support.

**SITUATION UPDATE. JUNE 2020
I was hoping that by now we would have been able to give some plan of action regarding Arts Awards Finals,
but with only vague hints coming from Government re theatre use, I’m afraid this is still not possible.
We will of course update as soon as we are able.
One bit of good news is that we will be booking exam dates from the 2nd week of October, with of course all
necessary precautions in place. This could still have to be postponed if there is a serious second spike of
Things are however looking brighter, so let’s be hopeful.
I hope you are all staying safe, and look forward to us all getting back to some kind of normality soon.
